Last chance to finish blog before grading

Hi Tarekh, I'm marking the blogs today as I'm at home. Can you ensure you have everything up there? Your storyboard should at least be posted using Scribd or slideshare.net - at the very least be the right way up! You are also missing analysis of technical elements and some of your RIVALING info seems to be missing? Can you also add an age certificate and industry details to your film poster and upload your article. I'll check back again later but at that point I will have to give it a mark.

Target Audience Profile

1. Who are the target audience for short films?

Short films are made for the type of people who are involved in the film industry, like critics, directors, investors and students of arts and media. These tend to be the people who watch the films because they are like a talent showcase rather than a way of making a profit. However, when the directors start out making the film they are probably starting out with a message for a particular group of people. So they may make a film for example that sends a message to young people about lifestyle or identity and it's the way that film is made that decides whether or not they are getting their message to the right group of people.

2. Who are the target audience for the samples you looked at?
The Ends
The black youths in this film are being represented as gang related and spread violence throughout their whole society. Most of the black youths in this film live in poverty in an old run down poor area of the south east of London. Black youths are seen to as extremely violent as there are no or little white people to be seen in the entire footage.
The ideology for this film footage would be I think what goes around comes back around, and a zero tolerance policy towards the enemy. They also take of friends and family. This short film is seen to as more of a documentary style type film, which means that it comes across more realistically. The audience to this film is a multi cultural cast between the ages of 16-20. The reason is because it focuses on real life state of affairs that youngsters do come across and the quick action concerned in the film. The language that is portrayed in the film is seen as street language which is mainly used with black youths to talk to their peers. This kind of language is mainly a big part of gang culture and the poorer parts of some different areas in London.

Skin deep
This film is just about identity and how hard it is for a young person to be different from what is seen to be the dominant race. Romo is half English and half Asian and passes himself off as white even if it means putting his sister at risk. He takes no pride in what he is and seems to be confused and unable to cope with his relations. The ideology is that family are not important and that there is no respect for other people’s cultures as Romo dismissed his sister from his presence rather than stick to his roots and stand up against the racists who seem to be very dominant in their situation. The audience for this film comes around a range of ages mostly from 16- 30 and from mostly an Asian background. Plus youth is important in the audience as the film appeals to them more than any other website with the cast’s age in the youth criteria.

If not now, when?
This film is about a young man who has a goal in life which is to become a footballer but his dream and the dream everyone around him thought would come true was shattered when he was stabbed in an attack. Identity is important in this film as there were some parts where you’re not welcome in a certain area. The film depicts a current ethnic perspective of youth culture, which is portrayed by the every day interactions between Daniel and his peers. The film exposes the shocking truth and impact of knife crime. Is that friends and family are seen as an important factor in young peoples lives. Also that togetherness can play an important factor in young peoples lives also. The audience for this film is around the age of 14-20 as this type of age group are the ones who are being put in this kind of danger that is represented in the film.

Night school
The two young people are seen to as mischievous and confused in their sexual relation. They show that the darkness is a place where many things can happen and what people can get up to. Sexuality is important in this film. The ideology is that partners are important and intimacy is not easy with other people. It has a touch of social realism with the way that they represent a young couple’s relationship. The audience for this film is in a range between the ages of 18-30 as this is where the film shows its young love side, directly aimed at this type of relationship.

3. Who is the target audience for your film?

The target audience for my film would have to be between the ages of 16- 24 because this is the age group I planned to target when I first started to plan out my film. My film also relates to the target audience because of the whole teenage terrors and the problem to society ways of life.

4. How will you measure the success of your products? Appeal to the target audience.

I will measure the success of my products by uploading my film onto Facebook or maybe even youtube to recieve some positive and negetive feedback from some peers, friends or even strangers so that I know how improve and move on from my original product to an even better outcome.
